Using Classified Ads For List Building

Classified ads are a much neglected method of building your list of email subscribers. It is a source of targetted traffic that a lot of Internet Marketers overlook.

There are a few good reasons for using online classified ads to generate traffic and build your list:

It is a targetted source of traffic, usually these sites are sorted by category so the visitors are interested in a specific topic.

It is buying traffic. People use classifieds when they want to buy something, not when they are just browsing for information.

It is an inexpensive form of traffic generation. Most ad sites like Craigs List, Olx, Backpage and Vivastreet can be used to place an ad for free, all it costs you is the time taken to make a post. US Free Ads charges $10 a month, still a bargain.

If you a quick at posting ads then you can accomplish the task easily each day in little time.

The traffic from these sites starts as soon as your ad goes live. There is no waiting around to see if you will get many visitors.

If you are not using classifieds you are probably missing out on a lot of interested visitors, give it a try today and let me know how you get on.

A safe list is an email discussion group where members send each other solo email ads.

Because each member can typically receive hundreds of emails a day, most look down on this as a credible advertising resource. My opinion is that it depends; if you’re on a very low budget, then this method is worth the hassle of setting it up. But if you’re already making thousands every month with your business, it might not be worth your time.

Of course, you could always outsource it.

It’s true that not a lot of people will read your ad, but people DO get traffic from safe lists. Getting 25-50 hits per day from safelists is completely in the range of possible – if you know how.

A lot of the time it depends on your email title, text and squeeze page. But last week with a new add and a great squeeze page  I was getting between 5 and 9 opt ins a day to my list from one safelist alone.

One of the most highly regarded safelists I know of and one I use myself is ListJoe

Ultimate Footer Ads For Getting Opt-ins

The most popular way to build a list of e-mail addresses is to use a squeeze page. The trouble with squeeze pages is that it is hard to get any search engine traffic to them as they are usually lacking in content which the search engines like.

The search engines like blogs as they are rich in content and they have RSS feeds. So what a lot of people do is put an opt-in form on their blog. The trouble is people become immune to these opt in forms and don’t really see them or take much notice of them.

A great way around this and to include an opt in form on your blog is to use a footer ad like the one at the bottom of this page.

This is called ultimate footer ads and really grabs the attention of your readers. So you get the best of both worlds, you get an opt in form on your blog which people notice, and you get the benefit of search engine traffic to your page which is hard if not impossible to do with a squeeze page.

I’m quite impressed with ultimate footer adds for getting opt ins at the moment. They have a free trial which you can use for 30 days. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to set up. It does require that you create a MySQL database and are able to change permissions on a few files using your FTP client. Nothing majorly difficult but it might be a bit intimidating to some newbies.

It has a lot of features such as being able to split test your ads, it has an ad rotator built in and works with Aweber and Getresponse autoresponders.

You can find out more about this nifty opt-in getting tool by visiting Ultimate Footer Ads

Free Traffic Blueprints

Free Traffic Blueprints is a short report on getting more targetted free traffic to your website.

You can grab it right now by visiting Free Traffic Blueprints, it’s available right now for free.

But once I re-edit it and add a few more chapters on traffic generation I might be slapping a $27 price tag on it. So go get it while you can if you want to increase your website visitors. Let’s face it – everybody can always use more traffic!

Cheers Chris

Everybody says that the money is in the list. Is this true? Not always. If you want to discover how to build a quality opt in e-mail list of proven eager buyers then read this article to find out more.

Some more wise people say that the money is not in the list and that it is in the relationship that you have with your list. Again, this is not always true. You can have a large e-mail list which is responsive and trusts you and still not make any money from it.

If you have a list of 10,000 people that trust you and hang on your every word it would be great, wouldn’t it? Well, not always. If these people on your e-mail list don’t have a credit card, PayPal account, or any money, then they are unlikely to ever buy from you even if you provide them with great content and irresistible offers. If they are not already proven buyers or do not have the ability to buy then they are just freebie seekers.

On the other hand, if you have a list of just 1000 people who are proven buyers then you are much more likely to make a profit from your opt in e-mail list. So how do you go about attracting proven buyers to your list?

One way that you can do this is to segment your own list. When someone makes a purchase from you, you can invite them to opt in to another list of yours which consists solely of proven buyers. You can then offer them products knowing beforehand that they have the ability to buy.

Another method of creating an e-mail list of eager buyers who have the ability to buy is to do a joint venture with other Internet marketers. Find someone in your niche who has a great product and then pick holes in their product. Find something that they have missed in their product and then create a small free product which fills this void. Contact them and offer them this product that you have created for free. Ask them if they would be willing to add this as a bonus to their product in exchange for a link to your site. If they agree to this then you will have a source of proven buyers who will be interested in your products and who will be tempted to join your e-mail list.

Another method to attract proven buyers to your list is to create a product and market it using a script such as rapid action profits. Offer affiliates the opportunity to promote this product for 100% of the profits. This is a win-win situation for everybody concerned. Your affiliates will earn 100% commissions on your product and you will gain a proven buyer on your e-mail list.

If you want to grow your list then there are a lot of ways of doing this. All methods of growing your list have advantages and disadvantages to them. Let’s look at some of the different ways that you can grow your number of opt-in email subscribers.

The best method to grow your list and the easiest way is to buy a solo ad from someone who already has a large list of subscribers. This method can add hundreds of new subscribers to your list very quickly, especially if you have a compelling and attractive offer which they will be interested in.

It is important that the person who you buy a mailing from is able to send you plenty of clicks. Click throughs to your offer are more important than list size. Ask them how many clicks they can send you.

Don’t be put off by the idea of buying a mailing. I will explain how you can cover your costs of buying a solo ad and even make a profit by using a method called the funded proposal.

The funded proposal method can also be used to help pay for PPC traffic and media buys.

When someone opts in to your double opt-in list you get them to confirm their subscription. Then you direct them to an offer that will earn you money. If your list is single opt-in, then send them straight to the offer from the signup form.

You could send them to a sales page for a Clickbank product, for example, but there is a much better way… Send them to an offer which pays out by Paypal!

This way you get paid instantly rather than having to wait for weeks to get a check from Clickbank. So you have the money you earn instantly available to reinvest in your business and to buy more advertising. This can really help you to grow your list quickly.

If you are buying one solo mailing each week for £300 then after one month you would have £1200 tied up in your business if you used Clickbank as a funded proposal. If you used Paypal you would get paid out immediately, freeing up this cash for other uses.

Adswaps

Adswaps are another way to grow your list. You find somebody else with a list in the same niche as you. You email your list with their offer and they email their list with your offer.

If you have a one time offer after your new subscribers have joined your list then Adswaps may turn out to be profitable as well as a good way to build your list. Just make sure that you can trust the person who you are adswapping with. Again, do not go on list size. It is the number of clicks that they can send you that is important.

Hint: join their list for a few weeks to see how they treat their subscribers before you agree to do an adswap with anybody. If they are constanly selling hard to their list then think twice about recommending them to your subscribers.

After all, your subscribers are your best friends, they put money in your pocket, you should treat them good and not just recommend any old rubbish to them. Otherwise they will remember that you recommended this other person to them and it will damage the goodwill and trust between you and your subscribers.

Safelists provide a great way of building your e-mail opt in list. However there is a great deal of confusion and a misconception regarding exactly what safelist is. If you are looking for a way to expand your subscriber list and you are considering using safe lists then read this article to find out what a safe list is.

A safe list is a list of people who have opted in to receive e-mails from other marketers. If you are in the Internet marketing niche then safe lists provide a great way of advertising your offers and services to other marketers.

There are two basic types of safe list. The two types of safe list are credit-based safe lists and non-credit-based safe lists. In a credit-based safe list you earn credits by viewing the websites of other safe list users.

Each day you receive e-mails from other safe list users who are advertising their products and services to you. You click on a link in the e-mail which takes you to their websites. Usually you have to view their website for a set amount of time. This may be anything from 15 seconds to 30 seconds. This will earn you a set amount of credits ranging from 10 to 50. Each credit can be used to send one e-mail to another member of the safelist.

A non-credit-based safe list enables you to e-mail other members of the safelist but there is no link within the e-mail to earn credits with. There is therefore very little incentive for people to read your e-mails because they are not going to earn credits by doing so.

A lot of people say that non-credit-based safe lists are less effective than credit based safe lists. However, if you have a great title to your e-mail which captures their attention and curiosity then marketing using non-credit-based safe lists can be effective. I have recently been using an e-mail on non-credit-based safe lists which has got me between seven and nine signups a day.

Safe this provide a great way to try out different ads, e-mail subject lines and sales copy. If you find a winning add which converts well on safe list traffic then you can go on to use this ad in other advertising campaigns knowing that it will convert well in advance.

Hope you found this introduction to safe lists useful. If you’re not already using them to increase your opt in subscribers to your e-mail list then you should give them a go as they can be really effective.

Everyone says that the money is in the list. If you want to find out what list building tools you need to build an e-mail list then read this article to find out more.

The first thing that you need is a domain name. You can get one of these from any of the well-known registrars, such as Godaddy or Namecheap. Your domain name should reflect the niche of your opt in e-mail list. It should also be a com domain as these are most trusted by Internet users and building trust is very important in e-mail marketing.

You need to get yourself a hosting account if you don’t already have one. You do not need a dedicated server at this point and you should be perfectly okay with a virtual hosting account. You can get one of these for just a few dollars a month.

You need a reliable auto responder service to manage your e-mail list building campaign. Go with one of the better-known providers who can ensure that your e-mails get delivered. The two better-known services which are both inexpensive and reliable are Getresponse and Aweber.

Once you have these in place you need to come up with a reason for people to want to join your list. The most commonly used tactic is to provide an incentive for people to subscribe. This is known as a lead magnet or bribe. This can take a variety of formats such as a report, video, webinar, ecourse or a piece of software. Free reports are a popular incentive for your prospects, and this is because they are easily accessible and fast to access the contents. Not everyone has the time to sit through a webinar or watch a long video. People want information fast, and a free report is a good method of providing it to them.

Once you have all of these in place you need to setup a page for your subscribers to opt in to your e-mail list. This is known as a squeeze page and its sole objective is to either get people to opt in to your list or leave the page. There should be no other links or distractions on this page.

You then need to set up a thank you page which will show to your subscribers after they have opted in to your list.

Once you have all of these parts in place, you will have an effective system for generating subscribers to your opt in e-mail list. All that remains to be done is to generate traffic to your squeeze page.
